BAN CONVERSION THERAPY

The UK Government has launched a public consultation on whether to ban conversion therapy.

At Oasis Church Waterloo we believe that every single person is made in the image of God, uniquely and wholly loved, unconditionally. We’re sorry for the times when people who identify as LGBT+ have heard a different message from churches, and we stand alongside those who have suffered from the practice of conversion therapy, in all its forms – anything that seeks to change a person’s sexuality or gender identity.

We believe conversion therapy is contrary to the inclusive and all-embracing love of God, and we’re calling on the Government to ban it. If you’d like to respond to the consultation, here’s the link.

As part of Oasis churches’ call for the UK Government to ban conversion therapy, we’ve asked those affected by it to tell their story, and we’ll be showcasing these stories over the time that the consultation is live.

This is the story of Dean Fudge, part of Oasis Church Waterloo. Dean was also recently interviewed by the BBC about his experiences – click here to read that.
