Blasé Ballers works to break this cycle by helping young people (aged 14 – 16) develop self-awareness, belief in their futures, and a stronger connection to and responsibility within the Waterloo community. We do this through:
1-2-1 mentoring: Personalised plans to help young people set goals and explore decision-making, with mentors from diverse backgrounds.
Exam prep sessions: Delivered by local schoolteachers (in their spare time) to support the young people during key academic periods.
Volunteer days: Partnering with a sustainability project to deliver food parcels during half-term.
Football sessions: Training and matches in a competitive league.
Blasé Ballers is co-led by an Oasis Academy Southbank school teacher who once participated in the programme as a player. His journey is a powerful example of how this initiative helps transform the community from within.
