TORCH

Torch – creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space for trans people of faith

Torch is a safe place where one can share their story without any hint of judgement, where one can reconcile their faith to their sexuality and gender identity, where one can just listen to each other’s stories and ask questions.

Torch is a mutual support group exclusively for trans people where we will share our stories and is for Christians or people of other faiths, or interested in faith, who are either just ‘coming out’, who are already ‘out’, or who are experiencing feelings of isolation (perhaps due to the failure of a long-term relationship, or being excluded from their place of worship for example).

Torch will provide a free, safe, confidential and welcoming space in which group- users can meet each other to form supportive and enduring friendships and social networks. Occasionally, meetings will include talks about ‘coming out’, sexual health and wellbeing, or dating. At other times, guest speakers from other groups or organisations of interest to trans people are invited along to talk about their activities. Torch is for over-18s with no upper age limit. It is expected that there will be adults of a wide range of ages attending the group, so whatever your age, you should feel comfortable.

Torch takes place on the first Saturday of each month, 2-5pm – contact us for details
