AUTUMN/WINTER AT OASIS CHURCH WATERLOO
We have some exciting things coming up over the rest of 2025 at Oasis Church Waterloo, so we’re sharing them early for you to get the dates in the diary! A wide range of Sunday topics, new weekday evening theology sessions, and those all-important Christmas events! There are loads of opportunities to get involved, to learn, to eat together, and to engage with God, each other, and our community.
As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion we will also be marking some key dates and themes through the autumn including Black History Month in October, Trans Day of Remembrance in November and International Day of Persons With Disabilities in December. Our regular activities will also continue, so if you’d like to join a small group email smallgroups@oasiswaterloo.org, or to help us pull Sundays together by volunteering, email volunteering@oasiswaterloo.org.
September
Sermon focus: Seasons Change
September always feels like a new start, and an opportunity for change. From taking a new career path, to the end of relationships, or the importance of the village when starting a family, through this month we’ll look at the ways in which our lives change, and what our faith has to say about that.
Dates for the diary
Tuesdays 2-23: Belonging Again – our four-week course for LGBT+ Christians seeking to reconcile faith and sexuality in a safe space.
Tuesday 30: Theology on Tap – a space to hear more about the big topics that shape our theology, with a short talk and panel Q&A
October
Sermon focus: Why did Jesus say that?
He told His followers that they should hate their families, sent a herd of pigs over a cliff to their deaths by casting out demons, talked a lot about Hell, and what was that bit about the sheep and the goats? In October we’re tackling the bits you might think Jesus got wrong…
